An area of outstanding beauty. Offering visitors warm shallow waters, magnificent views and historic monuments. Calis beach is a combination of coarse sand and pebbles and situated beside a stunning blue lagoon.

Travellers should dress respectfully (no shorts / swimwear) when entering a religious building of any kind. It is advisable for women to cover their arms, knees and shoulders at all times when away from beach areas, as well as their heads when entering a mosque.

Food: Turkish dishes include Meze, which is usually served as a cold starter and combines humas, salad, vegetables and dips. Steaks and cooked meat kebabs are usually of a good standard and the Turkish Delight is mouthwatering when fresh.

Nightlife: Hisaronu is your best bet for lively nights out. It offers a good selection of over 30 different restaurants, clubs and bars and it caters for all ages. Entertainment is varied and at it's busiest in July and August.

Shopping: Souvenirs can be found in both resorts. Fethiye market is held each Tuesday and sells every gift or trinket imaginable. Turkish delight can be picked and mixed for a personalized gift and the price can always be negotiated.

Days out: There is a lot to see and do. So if you can, do venture away from your hotel and pool. Jeep safari's, boat/gulet trips and water sports are all available. Trips to Ephesus and Pamukkale (both historical towns)can also be booked.

Events: Religious Festivals include Ramazan (Ramadam) and the Kurban Bayram (Sacrifice Festival) in early April. At these times banks will be closed. Victory Day holds a minutes silence with regard to the repatriation of the Greeks.
